What can you do to help?

Proceeds from donations, book sales, print sales and future exhibits will provide funds that the Ese’Eja can use in support of community projects, such as scholarships for Ese’Eja youth to attend college; safe drinking water systems; improved schools, including Ese’Eja teachers; expanded ecotourism opportunities; and more. They will decide. In addition, ACEER will educate the broader region on the needs of the Ese’Eja, and foster capacity development, conservation leadership, and empowering strategies to mitigate the erosion of their cultural identify. The Ese’Eja will continue to drive actions to address their needs, and their energy will be the engine to preserve their own culture.

Platinum-Palladium Print: Water's Edge

Platinum-Palladium Print: Water's Edge

Platinum-Palladium Prints

This stable photographic process was developed in 1873 and provides a rich variety of tones. These images are printed on Japanese Kozo paper in reference to the outside influences faced by the Ese'Eja. After World War II, Japanese refugees fled Japan and built settlements within the Ese'Eja ancestral lands along the shores of Lake Valencia. The Ese'Eja learned to farm rice from the Japanese and even today they continue to grow rice in their gardens. Ultimately, conflicts arose between the Ese'Eja and the Japanese, and the Ese'Eja were forced to leave their settlements surrounding Lake Valencia.

Our Limited Edition Platinum-Palladium prints are individually coated by hand and meticulously processed to ensure that they are 100% archival. Each print is 8x12 inches on 11x15 inch Japanese Kozo paper with the title, date and signatures on the verso, as well as signatures on the recto and limited to an edition of 15 and 2 Artist's Proofs.

These beautiful prints on Japanese Kozo paper have a subtle sheen to the paper surface, natural variations in the paper base and the fibers of the paper can be seen through the image. Because our prints are Hand-made, please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery from the time of purchase.
